Weapons Offense – 115 Oak Street (Hangout Bar)by http://www.spartapd.com/ on 10/18/13
On October 14, 2013 at approximately 2:10 a.m. the Monroe County Communications Center received a call informing them that Matthew Ames, 24 from Sparta, was in the Hangout Bar telling patrons he had a gun and intended on shooting up the Sparta Police Department. The caller claimed to have seen the gun and indicated that Ames appeared intoxicated. Officers located Ames standing outside the bar and saw a handgun concealed in his waistband. Ames showed obvious signs of intoxication and was arrested for Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Carrying a Handgun where Alcohol is Sold/Consumed, and Operate a Firearm while Intoxicated.
